Program Description

This is an evening program from 3:30pm - 7:30pm M-F (August to May).  Students will study a variety of diesel engines including Caterpillar, Detroit, Cummins, and Mark.  Students will earn a certificate in Diesel Mechanics.

 

Program Entrance Requirements:

  • Ben Franklin Career Center Adult Application
  • Valid Driver’s License/Government Issued Identification
  • 18 Years Old Prior to Second Semester
  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Test Certificate (GED, TASC , etc.)
  • Score 8 or Above in both Areas of the Entrance Exam (Reading and Mathematics)
  • Successful Instructor Interview
  • Payment Arrangements
  • Strong Basic Math Background
  • Able to lift 75 pounds

Program Certificate Requirements:

“C” or better Overall Grade Average

No more than Nine (9) Days of Absences

Earn an OSHA 10 Certification

Pass One Documented Drug Screening
