Program Description
This is a one year, half-day academic/clinical program for secondary students. The students enrolled in this program will learn entry level occupational child care skills. Students take part in clinical experiences by assisting cooperative teachers in local day care sites and Head Start Programs. Students assist the teachers with daily routines and supervision.
Topics include:
- Physical, Intellectual, Social, & Emotional Development
- Self-help and Motor Development
- Health, Safety, & Nutrition
- Observation
- Curriculum Skills & Lesson Planning

Entrance Requirements
Students must either be currently enrolled in a KCS high school or hold a high school diploma/GED.
